If Julie wouldn't keep forgetting the password...there'd be a few more posts

Updates!!!  Photo heavy!!
All images are from the end of May - now that things are crispy brown from lack of rain these May images look so green and inviting.

Dad had to move some "friends" into the cabin.

With the current stairs you do have to watch your head...if your over 6' tall.
 View from the loft.

 Tool organization is important.

 This will be the bathroom.

 Loft area.
 Loft window.

Its important to have coffee supplies for break time.
Loft view out the slider towards the pond.

From the porch, looking southwest towards the road which is 1 mile to the highway.

50th Anniversary Weekend

Jeff and Julie came home to celebrate our 50th anniversary.  We did a photo shoot at the cabin.  We also spent a night sleeping in the cabin.

The little wood stove has done a good job heating the cabin.
Stairs up to the sleeping loft.
Porches - a good thing and a good view.
 Next project - chinking.
 Electricty to the cabin.
Weston says "its a good view"

Porch - great place for a rock and a chat.

Early Sketches

Found the sketches from when the cabin was just in the 'something I'd like to do' stage.

We haven't stopped working....just posting

Sorry for the long delay
since the last post.  We've made progress!

Hired some of the local Amish to come help put the roofing on.  Love this photo of their hats resting on one of the bushes when they came in to eat lunch.  Their youngest helper was about 7 years old - he was full of ideas of how things should be done.

Steep angle on the roof allows for sleeping loft.
Have had a beautiful fall - this Ash tree on the West Side of the cabin really put on a show.

North side of the cabin - not much exposure to the winter winds with only one window.  Should be 'snug as a bug'.
West side (door enters bedroom area).   Bathroom will be where the little window is.
